Dr. Helle Bielefeldt-Ohmann is the founder and owner of BIOHM Discovery Research Pathology.
She has more than 28 years of experience in discovery & preclinical pathology, animal model development and biomedical research, including:
- Twelve years in veterinary infectious and biomedical research in Denmark and Canada, where she was involved in vaccine development, preventive applications of cytokines, and infectious disease pathogenesis studies.
- Ten years in biomedical research in Australia, where she established international reputations in a number of areas including infectious diseases, cancer and immunopathology.
- Seven years in biomedical research in the USA, where she has been and remains involved in non-human primate models of influenza, AIDS and other infectious diseases, transplantation and neurobiology, vaccine development and immunotherapies, animal model development and characterization, as well as discovery & preclinical pathology and toxicology.
- Author on >120 publications, reviewer for >20 journals and funding agencies. She is a member of multiple scientific associations.
- Principal or co-investigator recipient of federal grants in Denmark (Danish Research Councils), Canada (NSERC), Australia (NHMRC, ARC) and USA (NIH, CDC) as well as of private foundations (e.g. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) and pharmaceutical industry contracts (Genentech, Ciba-Geigy).
